Long-distance move from Florida to Massachusetts

Update.

Update to previous post -- La Rosa del Monte found my mother's items, and the situation has been resolved favorably. Once LRDM contacted us and let us know the items had been found, they were delivered within 48 hours. The deliverymen were courteous and helpful. We are grateful that these precious items have been restored, and thank the Massachusetts office for their help!

Long-distance move from Niagara Falls, NY to Canovanas, PR

No service

My mother that lives in Niagara falls New York has been planning to move back to Puerto Rico since April 2025. When the date came August 30, they were no where to be found or to be contacted. They postponed for a Sunday pick up, then for Thursday. My mother of 73 yrs of age caring for my brother with health problems are now left with a house full of furniture and lease extension. Loosing money on hotel reservation's ,having to change plane tickets and trying to find a reliable moving company. 5 months of planning and thanks to the unreliable moving company that is La rosa del monte, all of the planning had to be rearranged in a day or two. Shame on you LaRosa del monte, my mom believed in your name and company and you promised a service but wouldn’t show up for it.

Long-distance move from Illinois to Florida

Moving services.

This is a company with very dishonest employees. I was promised a one-week delivery and they kept lying to me that my stuff was in route when in fact it had not even left Chicago. Some of the furniture and equipment were damaged and even though I had enough insurance they denied my claim. Apparently, in order for the insurance to pay, their movers would have to unpack everything on site. This is not always possible especially when there are more than 100 pieces involved and you don't know where everything is going to go. But even so, they intentionally failed to warn me when I was negotiating the contract both about delivery time and insurance requirements. I would never use or recommend this company again.

Long-distance move from Toa Baja, PR to Worcester, MA

Worcester location terrible people

They destroyed my vehicle, I spent a lot of money fallowing there requirements that included power wash my vehicle including the engine and empty my vehicle. They put my rear seats down on my van and decided to put dirty heavy equipment in my trunk which by the way is against the rules and without my consent. They scratched my vehicle inside panels and left dirt all over. I spoke to Ricardo from Worcester office and he was very rude and just told me I couldn’t proof it was them or that anything was in my vehicle even when their employee told me he removed things from inside my vehicle that were not supposed to be there and my vehicle was dirty and destroyed inside. Ricardo was very rude and unprofessional I will never ship anything with this company ever again. I used them a few times and never had issues spent thousands of dollars shipping things as I moved back and forth a few times. I can’t understand how they have all this requirements for you to ship your car but they can do as they please with other peoples property and act like it’s ok.

Long-distance move from Connecticut to Puerto Rico

Liers, Crooks, Thieves, Take Advantage of hard working people!

I am having issues with LRDM since July. I moved from CT to P.R may 31st.. I was overcharged, lied too, things were left behind due to their lack of time and negligence. . I tried to stop the shipping and asked to moved into a storage of my choice. They lied said it went out right away but I did not receive a notice or call until 6 weeks later. My things are sitting in their warehouse in toa boa since July. As I could not afford the outrageous overcharges from first estimate(and so many things were left behind or taken off the new inventory)$2100 to $4990. The fee for storage is $489 a month(how does one pay off the actual bill and the storage fees)?? at once?? OVERCHARGED ME 3 times for items not shipped, taken off the inventory or left behind. Not allowing me time to pay off the balance by the 6 month mark(then they start actions). They give you the run around and lie about what they  say previously. I sent two complaints to the BBB. LRDM tried to say they negotiated a fare lower price. They offered November 30th then said call ahead if you need more Time. I said from the beginning I need till December 30th the legal 6 month term to hold belongings in storage. Now they offer a lower fee but it must be paid by December 14th)still not legal 6 month term). And if I don't they can action everything off! (even if I am short $50) and paid the full bill! ? I went to their office two days ago to make another payment the balance is now $2200.. THEY want me to sign a waiver if it is Not paid by December 14th I will g9ve them all my things to auction off.  EVEN IF I PAID THE FULL BILL OFF? This is manipulation! And I can prove all this information. I need a lawyer but no one will talk the case as it is not in their county/state.

Long-distance move from Massachusetts to Florida

Poor.

I move from Massachusetts to Florida and I have to be honest the service from the people of MA was good but the problem was with the employees of Miami. They came with my moving and my apartment was on the 2nd floor but the entrance is from the 1st floor. When they ask the address my apartment has the #1. So when the start unpacking they saw that is on the second floor and they said that if we don't pay $50 they would not bring up our stuff, that they would leave it outside cause it's more money if they need to bring it to the 2nd floor. They started to argue and calling us liars because we said that the apartment was on the 1st floor. The apartment has #1 on the door so is not my fault that the landlord put that number and the apartment really is on the 2nd. The basically leave everything on the street and we call the company to complaint and they did nothing about it.

Long-distance move from Puerto Rico to Florida

Still waiting 2 months later.

My move was originally scheduled from Puerto Rico to Texas in November. I asked the agent if he could pick up by a specific time because I had a flight to catch, and he promised me that he could. The movers arrived 3 hours late. Apparently he said it was my fault because I hadn't called him that morning.

Then, my shipment arrived in Orlando, Fl in December. I thought I was lucky. I asked the agent to hold my shipment in Orlando until January because I had transferred schools and would need it delivered to Ft. Lauderdale. Apparently she heard hold it indefinitely and screen my calls because it wasn't until Jan 23rd that I was finally able to get her on the phone again.

Now my shipment is in Miami because it's easier for them to send it to another office than to deliver to a location that's in between the two places. The Miami office says it has received the shipment but cannot give me any information because it doesn't have the paperwork yet.

The postal service would have been a better option than this company.

Long-distance move from Puerto Rico to Florida

Extremely POOR and UNPROFESSIONAL service.

Moved all our furniture from P.R. to Florida. The TV arrived broken; the mattresses and furniture arrived DIRTY and WET. THEY TOOK 4 MONTHS TO DELIVER OUR FURNITURE!!. When they delivered, they just dropped-off all the furniture without giving any time to check an verify its condition, indicating they were in a hurry; If you would later find something damaged (even if only just a couples of days had passed since delivery) they would refuse your claim indicating you did not claim it at the time of delivery (this despite the law indicating you have 30 days to claim). Reported them to the BBB and they would not respond to them either. They don't care who calls them. We lost plenty of money. Do not use this company. You will be better off selling everything before moving and buying new things. You will end up saving a lot of money.

Great experience. Economic Price. La Rosa.

My family & I moved from New York to Florida recently and I used La Rosa del Monte. I now see how they earned an A on the Better Business Bureau's website: www.BBB.org .
Very professional, from the 1st phone call to the delivery to my new home in Florida. We went with the most responsible company and most economic price. We compared prices vs. 5 other companies.
Everything arrived in the same conditions because of the great packing in my our New York. I recommend their services 100%.

Long-distance move from Pennsylvania to Puerto Rico

Not satisfy how they handle claims.

Some of my furniture arrived damaged. But my biggest concern was my car it arrived all scratched up 950.00 was the estimate to repair my car had 1,000. Insurance with them when I made the claim they just want to offer me 130.00 because they claim that I only insured my car for one thousand and my car value was 19,000 so they can only give me 7% of what my car Ian worth now I told them that if they were crazy been having this battle for over 2 years and also they still to this day have not paid me for the damages to the furniture they offer 75.00 which will not cover it but I was more concern abt my car so now I'm moving back to PA from puerto rico and am going to see if I still can sue them in court for the money. Other then that there ok. Is just that when they do damage your stuff they won't pay. Even if u have insurance is hard to get them to pay.

Long-distance move from Illinois to Puerto Rico

Timeliness, dependability, packing knowledge, claim to payment time.

The salesman and pitch were great. The pick up to delivery time was not. The items that were packed by Rosa del Monte employees, suffered extensive damage. The items were packed sloppily and with very little protection. They also jammed too many pieces into the boxes.
When I began opening the boxes that they packed I was dismayed by the amount of damage. Many of the items in these boxes, I trusted to them because they were expensive and in many cases, irreplaceable.
To ad insult to injury, they pretty much forced me to settle for $500, which is about half the total worth were it be replaceable.
Do yourself a favor and contact a good attorney in case this happens to you.
I do not recommend this company at all.

Only use if you want horrible service.

THis was by far the worse moving experience I have ever had. They claimed 3 weeks delivery and now 3 months and no items. The service personnel are terrible and do not communicate with their customers. We have to make several 4 hour trips and each time they called us back to say we needed to come back for something else. They also lied about the amount we needed to pay by at least double. We shipped Sept and it is now Dec and no items yet. Please avoid this company like the plague. There are many more choices but this should not be one of them.

La Rosa Del Monte Damages.

La Rosa Del Monte claims to be the best in delivering household goods to the Dominican Republic. They are the worst. They destroyed our expensive glass vitrine that they crated at an additional cost. A rare Murano Glass Table was stolen. They lied about insurance options and don't want to pay us but a pittance. Their customer service department rotates responsibility between NY, San Juan, and Santo Domingo. In short, they finger point internally, never responding with satisfaction. The owner is a coward and never calls to take responsibility for his staff. RUN, DON'T WALK AWAY FROM LA ROSA DEL MONTE!!

Long-distance move from New York to Puerto Rico

From NY to PR in pieces.

First I'd like to say the salesman was a good talker.. New his business. However, the company does NOT volunteer info unless it's asked. La Rosa Del Monte failed to tell me how much they were insuring my items. I felt I was overcharged for items that were of less valued ,and charged me or insured my items for less than what the items was worth. I told them I was sending my 32" Sony trinitron TV not that it was a flat screen but it was I perfect condition and hardly used. It wasn't new new, but worth sending to PR .. The packaging was very poor, plus I told the movers they needed 2 people to lift it b/c it was very heavy. Once in PR, my t.v. Arrived in pieces .. I couldn't believe the idiots broke my TV. To add injury to insult THEY, La Rosa Del Monte, said I insured my TV for $100.00 that's one hundred dollars. La Rosa Del Monte wants to give me $140.00 & that's b/c THEY say I insured it for $100.00. I told them they never even asked me how much my TV was worth to be insured.. Like I said it wasn't a flat HD wide screen TV but I told THEM it was in excellent condition.. Why the hell would I ship a TV worth $40.00??

So if you plan on using this company, ask how much they plan on insuring your valuables and make sure they give you a breakdown of all you items and what you feel each is worth..
I have pictures of my TV & when I can upload the pics I will..

La Rosa Del Broken Stuff.

I paid $1300 for a move from San Juan to Austin. I was hospitalized when the things arrived and was assured I had 30 days to inspect the contents. Upon inspection a broken china cabinet leg and missing casters were found. I've spent the last six weeks trying to get La Rosa to pay the $65 repair estimate and they have gone through an encyclopedia of excuses to avoid paying. At present I have complaints against them with The American Movers Society, Panamerican movers Assoc,The Attorney General in Texas and the Better Business Bureau. My only hope is that other people do not get abused by this very irresponsible, ethics-deficient company. Please DO NOT USE LA ROSA DEL MONTE.

Shipment not delivered on time.

Prepare for a nightmare if you select this company. They picked up on time. The made a good packaging of everything.  They said that the will take  between 4 to 6 weeks to deliver our things to the destination place. After the 9 week we are not received nothing yet. The car that they send us was not mine. So they has two cars missing.  I call the Orlnado office and the information that they provided was no conclusive. For me, they lost my shipment.  Good luck.

Delivery delayed by more than 8 weeks!!

I decided to make my move using this company due to the many years they have been on the market.  After comparing quotes I found this company to be the highest and since I wanted a company that was experienced and reliable, I decided to ship with them.  I was told my shipment would get to Connecticut within 6 to 7 weeks. 16  weeks passed and I still haven't received my stuff. When I call their different offices, nobody can give me a straight answer.  I've been told that they don't know where my stuff is.  They have been very unprofessional.  I would never use this company again.

Long-distance move from Puerto Rico to Texas

Worst moving company.

My stuff got picked up august 1  from Puerto Rico to Dallas, TX.  To this day October 13, I'm still waiting for my stuff to get here.  I call every week and they tell me a different story.  I lost all credibility to this company.  My advise, pay extra with another company and get your stuff on time and safely.  They promise and don't deliver, their excuse is that is on the contract, they are not responsible for how long it takes or even if there's any damage.  Their excuse that is on the agreement (the sales man never mentioned any of this).  Oh and their intial quote was $1,750 and at the end end was $2,100I hope my stuff gets here eventually but I highly doubt it. .

Long-distance move from New York to South Carolina

Worst moving company ever.

La Rosa Del Monte picked up my belongings on 9/10/14 and I have yet to receive them as of 10/15/14. They said I would get it between 3 to 4 weeks and that's not the case. Not only that they don't inform their clients of these extra hidden charges.

When they came to pick up my things they told me I had to pay an extra fee because some of my boxes were bigger than what's on paper. However they didn't explain that they charge not only for the amount of boxes you have but also the size.

I was upset but I said fine, I asked what was the extra amount and they told me $75. They said I can pay that amount when they deliver my stuff. I was fine with that until I called Orlando's location and they said my balance was $95. They charge a 5% fee if you have a balance and don't pay before they close out the account to deliver. When I spoke to them they said that information is on the back of the form. Why is it in back of the form? If it's an extra charge they are suppose to inform the clients about it
and it shouldn't be in the back of the form it should be on the front. If I would've known that I would've call or stopped by the office to pay off the balance. Never again with this company.

Do not use this company!!

I chose La Rosa del monte due to price.. Boy am I sorry! First, they shedule to pick up my things and they don't show up. I should have taken this as a signal.. They picked my stuff up 1 week later. They said the move would take 4-5weeks, I was willing to wait a little more.. It took three months and a half! Whenever I'd call, always a different lame excuse. When my stuff got here, television set was damaged during the move. I called and got all sorts of excuses and fine prints in contract.. If the monitor wasn't broken, it wasn't their fault!?!? Please take my advice.. Do NOT use this company! I would have had better results having my stuff parachuted from a plane..

Long-distance move from New York to Florida

Better late than never!

The move was from Bronx, Ny to Orlando, Fl. The company lacks english speaking representatives and because of this I was put on hold several, long, times. My things were already boxed up and packed in a storage. The representative told me on the phone the day before the pick up that they will call me after 9am to give the storage time to open. However, the driver called me at 8am the following morning and when I got to the storage place they were there waiting for me (this is a good thing). The representative in the Bronx told me 7-14days is what will take for my delivery. Instead, I was told 3-4 weeks by the representative in Orlando (I called them after the 14th day. The only complaint I have is that they did not have any tracking information to give to me just that the system showed that my things were already in transit. On the delivery day everything was fine, all boxes were there, and nothing broken. But I will never use this company again, I feel like I was pushng my luck and was nervous about my things for 4 weeks (my things arrived on the 4th week). It isn't worth going through all of that. Next time Ill move my own things.

Stolen Box.

Company does not honor claims for missing or stolen boxes even when they have been insured - A box containing a 4ft Armoire with our valuable jewelry ended up missing. The company was not willing to replace it or even provide us with the insurance amount that we paid for. The company reponded by saying: valuables must be identified and their value stated in writing by Shipper before shipment; and if not done, are carried solely at risk of the shipper or any other party having an interest in the goods. With that comment said I believe they knew exactly what was in the box since it was noted on the manifest as it contained a "Jewerly Armoire". that is soely the main reason its missing, that they knew.   .

Long-distance move from Florida to California

Caution-Do not use this moving company.

WARNING..CAUTION. My ordeal began in January 2015 when a $12,000 painting was shipped from Florida to California. Our contacts assured the artist and me that the painting would arrive safely in a timely manner. The painting was not only late in arriving, but was severely damaged in transit. The tear was most likely caused by a fork lift and was due to the fact that the artwork was not properly wrapped. The La Rosa Del Monte website says the company is skilled in unique aspects of handling fine art, specialized in packing and transporting, but because of the number of complaints it receives I do not believe this is true. The company confirmed that damage was done to the artwork and promised an insurance settlement. However, it has been over a year and no one has resolved the matter. High level employees do not return phone calls or email inquiries and I believe they behave in a very unethical manner. Many customers have written reviews to describe the horror stories that have occurred when they have used this company. However, this is not enough. Also contact the Federal Motor Safety Administration Overseas Interstate Transportation with your complaints. It would be good to write the Better Business Bureau. La Rosa Del Monte will only take action and settle complaints when they are forced to do so.
